About Us

Nestled in the heart of Sahibabad, just five kilometres northeast of the nation's capital, Holy Angels’ Senior Secondary School stands as a beacon of learning, character, and transformation. It is not merely an institution but a living testament to the vision, perseverance, and selfless service of its founders. Governed by the St. Paul's Educational and Charitable Society, Ghaziabad, under the stewardship of the Franciscan Capuchin Missionaries of Krist Jyoti Province, North India, the school continues to embody its cherished motto: “Lightened to Enlighten.”

From its humble beginnings to its present stature, the school has remained steadfast in its mission — to cultivate not only minds, but hearts; to foster not only intellect, but integrity. Rooted in the ideals of Franciscan simplicity and compassion, Holy Angels’ welcomes students from all walks of life, regardless of caste and creed. As an institution affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi, it prepares pupils for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), nurturing excellence at every stage.

What began on July 17, 1975, in the modest setting of a rented house at 31-B, Shyam Park Extension, with just six students and one teacher, has now blossomed into one of the most esteemed co-educational schools in Western Uttar Pradesh. Today, with over 2,600 students and a dedicated team of more than 100 staff members, Holy Angels’ School continues to shape young minds and spirits across the vibrant mosaic of the National Capital Region (NCR).

The founding visionary, Fr. Hyacinth, OFM Cap., a missionary priest of unwavering resolve, recalls that inaugural day with poignant honesty:
“After frantic preparations, the school opened with only six children on the admissions register — a sobering contrast to my hopes of welcoming forty or more. Yet, even amidst uncertainty, hope endured.”

What began as a humble endeavour — just six students and a heart full of faith — soon grew into something far greater. That small seed, sown with conviction and purpose, found fertile ground. On December 10, 1976, the Ghaziabad Improvement Trust (now G.D.A.) granted 1.75 acres of land in Sector III, Rajender Nagar, allowing the school to take root in its own soil. The unwavering efforts of Fr. Hyacinth laid the foundation for a legacy that would span generations.

The school’s upward trajectory continued under the leadership of devoted principals and friars. In 1985, the Government of Uttar Pradesh issued the N.O.C., and a year later, under Fr. Mathew Thazhathuveetil, the school was officially affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination. The very first batch of ICSE students, guided by Fr. Mathew in 1987, graduated with flying colours — a remarkable testament to the school’s early promise.

As the student body grew, so too did the campus. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Fr. Paul Kudapuzha, Fr. Mathew Ullat, and Fr. Jose Kollannor, an additional 3 acres of adjoining land was secured in 1992, with the final lease agreement signed on April 11, 1997. Under the capable leadership of Fr. John Prakash, a magnificent Silver Jubilee Memorial Block was erected — a symbol of the school's enduring vision.
Today, Holy Angels' Senior Secondary School stands proud — not merely in physical structure, but in spirit. Its towering buildings, well-equipped science laboratories, computer lab, Robotic and AI Lab, audio-visual room, Recording Studio, spacious library, and extensive playgrounds offer students every opportunity to excel. More importantly, the school remains a sanctuary where intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual, and moral growth are nurtured in harmony.

This is not just a chronicle of dates and deeds — it is a tribute to the many individuals whose dedication brought a dream to life. Through their commitment, Holy Angels has become more than an educational institution; it is a community of purpose, a legacy of light, and a place where futures are illuminated.
